DESCRIPTION:This is a school holiday week for children with disability needs to participate. Get ready for a full fun, friends, and play that will be led by Disability Sports Auckland.\nTo deliver and connect people living with disability to quality opportunities in sport, active recreation and play. Disability Sports Auckland believes having a disability should never be a barrier to participation in inclusive sport, recreation, and play opportunities. Their programmes welcome people with physical, visual, learning, and intellectual disabilities of all ages and abilities.\nWhy Join:\n\nEmpowers participants build strength and coordination skills\nFeel confident to socialize\nDevelop a lasting passion for physical activity\n\nThis is a free event for people with disabilities and their whanau.\nA charge of $50.00 will apply for any disability sector professionals attending.\nFor more information or to register please email admin@disabilityconnect.org.nz  ( mailto:admin@disabilityconnect.org.nz ?subject=Parent%20Support%20Group%208%20April%202026 )or phone Disability Connect 09 636 0351 (Please include any dietary or access requirements)\nAt Disability Connect our ethos is based on promoting cultural cohesiveness and inclusivity towards building a supportive community. We welcome all families caring for a person with a disability to attend this support group. Children are welcome, provided they are supervised by a family member.\nDisability Connect offers cultural special support groups to families with children who have special needs as part of the CALD service (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Disability Information and Advisory Service) for different ethnic groups. We have a “Chinese Families Disability Support Group” that runs every third Thursday of a month at the Anchorage Park Community House in Pakuranga (or on zoom) and also a “Parents’ Support Group” and “Parents’ Social Group” in Otahuhu (or on zoom). We welcome all families with special needs to join the relevant support group. It is a great opportunity for parents to share their experience and network with each other\n
