Our Impact on the Community
At Disability Connect, everything we do is guided by our vision: to help people with disabilities and their families to lead the lives they want.
We believe that when people have access to the right information, support, opportunities, and connections, they are better able to make choices that reflect their own goals and aspirations. Our role is to empower disabled people, their families, whānau, and carers with the knowledge, resources, and networks they need to navigate life’s opportunities and challenges with confidence.
Through information services, community events, seminars, workshops, support groups we help people build connections, access support, and participate fully in their communities. We work alongside individuals, families, service providers, businesses, and community organisations to create a more inclusive society where disabled people are valued, included, and able to thrive.
The impact of our work extends beyond the people we directly support. By fostering understanding, reducing barriers, and systemic advocacy, we help build communities where everyone has the opportunity to belong, contribute, and live the life they choose.
